Our users were sending us tweets “Noisli is not available” and we did not know what to do really. Stefano: Yes, but at that time it felt like an eternity. Sabine: Are you sure it was just half an hour? Stefano (Laughing): you could not access the website anymore for like half an hour. And obviously we got lifehacked (ndlr, laugh). Stefano: Yes we do! When we launched the website, a few blogs picked-up on the product and started to write about it. We took care of sourcing and editing the different sounds and we also launched the Facebook page and the Twitter account to be connected to our users.ĭo you have any memories to share of your very beginning? We first designed the visual identity of the product and developed the website. The first steps into Noisli were pretty busy as we did everything ourselves from A to Z. So we decided to solve our problem and created Noisli. Working from home is really not easy, we had difficulties to stay motivated, we were feeling a bit lonely and isolated. At the time, we were working from home, freelancing. Stefano: Noisli started in 2013 from a problem we had. Now that we know your background, tell us about the Noisli journey? When did it start, how did you come up with the idea and what were the first steps? I am a product and visual communication designer and the co-founder of Noisli. Sabine: My name is Sabine, I come also from Italy. Stefano: Hi! I am Stefano, Italian, product designer and co-founder of Noisli. Hey guys! Thanks for your time, we are super happy to have you as the first coworkies on our blog! Can you quickly introduce yourselves? We met Sabine and Stefano, the founders of Noisli over a coffee to ask them a few questions about their startup and coworking life. You can mix different sounds tailored to your personal need and taste. It is a background noise generator that helps you drown out annoying noises and creates a perfect working environment. Noisli helps you to be more focused and boost your productivity. We decided to dig and meet the founders of a product that can significantly improve your coworking experience. When we found about Noisli, we instantly felt in love with its simple and beautiful design. It’s a place where we share what we see, what we discover and what we live while building COWORKIES. The best productivity app based on mixing sounds.

You could downgrade your processor to a lower tier, save money, and see no reduction in the quality of your server’s performance. Most servers are sold by overall computing power, and if your server is only sitting at 30% CPU usage, you’re paying for too much processor power. Most companies seek to keep the CPU usage of their servers as close to 100% as possible. Instead, if the program only required six seconds processing time on one core, the usage would be 10%. For instance, if you had a program that required uninterrupted processing power for 54 out of the last 60 seconds, your CPU usage on one core would be 90%. CPU usage is a measurement, in a percentage, of how much time the CPU spends actively computing something. Even though they might sound similar, they’re quite different. System activity reports can be generated from a logfile by using the atopsar command. The first thing to understand is that CPU load is not the same thing as CPU usage. By default, the daily logfiles are preserved for 28 days. You can then import this data for analysis, using either a spreadsheet program or a custom tool like sargraph.Īn alternative is to use atop which is able to store raw counters in a file for long-term analysis on system level and process level. Sysstat will collect background CPU usage data every minute, saving it to /var/log/sysstat/. You can generate a real-time report with the following command: sar -u 1 3 You can modify this behavior by editing the sysstat crontab at /etc/cron.d/sysstat, or by changing rotation settings in the sysstat settings at /etc/sysstat/sysstat. Next, enable it by editing /etc/default/sysstat and setting “ENABLED” to true.ĭoing so monitors your system and generates a report every 10 minutes, rotating them out after a week. Having hexagons as units can make it so that the awkward spaces get filled with buildings in a more natural way. You forgot that not all cities are gridlike (acctualy it's in a 50/50), and even gridlike cities can get uneven parcels or plots. That's the thing, it's a game, not real life, and a system based on hexagons would be actually better to simulate the parcels. I can certainly see it being used for city expansion areas though. All lots being shaped like hexagons would look kind of odd. Origineel geplaatst door Enterprofilenamehere:I doubt they'd use a hexagon grid, as real-life cities are usually based on rectangular grids. These plug-ins must be moved to the CC plug-ins folders or re-installed from updates, in order to be accessible within the CC applications.Īdobe has promised faster software updates thanks to this new subscription model and so far they have made good on that. With the exception of the FxFactory filters, most plug-ins that you have installed for CS6 will not show up in your CC effects palettes. If you still need Adobe Encore for DVD/Blu-ray authoring, the CS6 version is still required, since there won’t be a new CC version. If you don’t want the CS6 versions on your system any longer, you’ll have to go through the usual de-authorization and uninstall steps as you have previously done with Adobe software. If you already have CS6 versions of the software installed, the new CC software will not overwrite these files, but the Creative Cloud application will manage both versions for any necessary updates. When you do this, you also get Adobe Media Encoder CC, Cinema4D Lite and the Color Finesse and Mocha plug-ins for After Effects. I would highly recommend downloading and installing not just Premiere Pro CC, but also Prelude CC, Audition CC, After Effects CC, SpeedGrade CC and Photoshop CC at the very minimum. As an individual or Team subscriber, you have access to all of Adobe’s content creation tools therefore, you should install as many applications as you find useful. This manages aspects of your Creative Cloud account, including installation and updating your software. To install Premiere Pro CC, you first install the Creative Cloud desktop application. If you’ve been sitting on the fence about whether Premiere Pro CC is good enough to either adopt the Cloud or to move beyond FCP 7 or Premiere Pro CS6, then let me re-assure you. This year Adobe has introduced the next version – Premiere Pro CC – as part of its Creative Cloud subscription model. Adobe responded with software that delivered both performance and a familiar look-and-feel. Many of these editors were looking for the next generation of nonlinear editing software after Final Cut Pro changed direction. Adobe started to receive serious interest from the professional video community with the introduction of Adobe Creative Suite 6 Premiere Pro. It is integrated with Google Calendar and it is quick and easy to add, remove and modify tasks. However, for only a $25 yearly fee, it's hard to say no to the Premium plan. I should also note up front that while you can test GQueues Premium for 2 weeks for free, the Lite version doesn't offer Google Calendar integration, reminders, collaboration or assignments, and a few other features shown below. We've very briefly mentioned GQueues here at MUO in the past, and so I wanted to take some time to explore it and see if it could provide a better solution than Google Tasks for managing those big visionary projects. Half the point of using a system to manage your time is to get to a point where you aren't just managing today's tasks well, but you're also focusing on making progress into the future. I keep going back to Google Tasks for the short-term task management stuff, but Google Tasks has a ridiculously simple front-end and offers very little in terms of features that help you to organize and plan out those long term projects. I've also tried creating my own system by integrating Excel and Google Tasks, or using browser add-ons like Google Tasks Offline for Chrome.Ī lot of the solutions worked well for a while, but what is lacking in most of the solutions out there is a really good way to combine short term task and time management with long term project planning and goal setting. I've personally tried a number of those recommended here at MUO over time. One good example is Bakari's review of Wunderkit, or Azim's review of Chaos Control. We've explored a steady stream of time and task management apps through the years. However not all these features are alike: for example Fusion won't exactly give you effects worthy of Adobe's After Effects. Some of these functions are best-in-class: color graders around the world attest to how DaVinci is one of the top color correction tools on the market, paid or otherwise. This one-stop solution will be appealing to a proficient editor working on a complex project that involves various aspects of post-production. Everything is well organised and you can switch between workspaces with just a click. You’ll find editing on the Cut and Edit pages, colour correction on the Color page, motion graphics and visual effects on the Fusion page, audio on the Fairlight page, and media organisation and output on the Media and Deliver pages. Each page gives you tools to handle specific post-production tasks. To ensure the whole gamut of high-end tools doesn’t overwhelm users, DaVinci Resolve is split into dedicated workspaces known as pages. It offers support for editing, colour correction, visual effects, motion graphics, and audio post-production.
